Punch des Fêtes Joli Rouge: When Quebec’s terroir goes 36
The holiday season is synonymous with generosity, gatherings and, let’s face it, memorable cocktails. But this year, we’re putting aside the tried-and-true recipes to celebrate the perfect alliance between the king fruit of our winter and our Joli Rouge Original cider.
Cranberries, with their sharp acidity and slight bitterness, are the ideal partner for our Original cider. And why is that? Because the dry, fresh profile of our apple cider provides the perfect backdrop for the tartness of the cranberry to shine through, without the whole thing becoming too heavy or too sweet. It’s the perfect harmony between earth and fruit!
Recipe: Joli Rouge Cranberry Punch
We recommend using a Québec gin and products from Maison Sivo and KWE Cocktails for a 100% Québec cocktail!
Ingredients:
In a pitcher filled with ice (or if you have a punch bowl from your old aunt, that’s even better!), you pour :
2 ounces gin
2 ounces Maison Sivo cranberry liqueur
2 ounces KWE Cocktails cranberry and fir syrup (or maple syrup if you prefer!)
Juice of 1 lime
1 can Joli Rouge Original cider
4 ounces carbonated water
Toppings: Frozen cranberries (they also serve as ice cubes!)
Procedure:
Mix the base: In your container, first combine the gin, cranberry liqueur, syrup (KWE or maple) and lime juice. Stir gently to incorporate.
Add the sparkling wine: Pour in the can of Joli Rouge Original cider and the carbonated water at the very last moment to preserve as many bubbles as possible.
Garnish and serve: Add frozen cranberries. Serve well chilled, admiring the brilliant color and festive spirit of this 100% terroir punch!
